An independent guide, run from Medellín.

Colombia Heart helps US and Canadian patients figure out whether scheduled cardiac care in Colombia makes sense for them, and if it does, how to do it carefully.

Who we are

A small team on the ground, not a call center abroad.

Colombia Heart is part of the Colombia Medical network, operated by Scout Theory LLC. The business is run from Medellín, Colombia, which matters more than it sounds: we are on the same clock as the hospitals (UTC-5 all year), we work in Spanish and English, and we can visit a hospital's international office in person rather than reading about it.

We are not doctors, and we are not a hospital. We do not diagnose, recommend treatment, or decide whether you are fit to fly. Your cardiologist does that. What we do is the research and logistics around the decision: published prices, accreditation status, recovery timelines, quote requests, and the practical details of a stay.

Cardiac care is the specialty where getting this wrong costs the most, so this site leans harder on sources and caveats than most medical-travel sites. If the honest answer is "stay home," we say so.

What we do

  • Publish price ranges, recovery timelines and hospital accreditation status, with sources and dates.
  • Request itemized quotes from accredited Colombian cardiac centers on your behalf.
  • Help with the ground game if you want it: lodging near the hospital, airport transfers, an interpreter.
  • Make sure you leave with records in English for your doctors at home.

What we don't do

  • Give medical advice, interpret your test results, or tell you which procedure you need.
  • Handle emergencies. If you have symptoms now, call 911 (US and Canada) or 123 (Colombia).
  • Publish testimonials, star ratings or success rates we cannot verify.
  • Rank hospitals for money.
Editorial standards

How we decide what goes on a page

01

Primary sources first

Hospital accreditation pages, government registries, guideline bodies (British Cardiovascular Society, UK CAA, CDC, AHA and ACC) and peer-reviewed or state price data.

02

Ranges, dated

Prices are published ranges with the year attached, never "from $X" teasers. Peso figures state the exchange rate and date used.

03

Weak data is labeled

When a figure rests on one or two sources, the chart says "thin data." When we could not verify something, it is not on the page.

04

Disclosed money

If we ever have a commercial agreement with a hospital, we will say so on that hospital's listing. Affiliate links are labeled where they appear.

How the site is funded

Plainly

Reading the site and requesting quotes costs nothing. We earn money in two ways: from on-the-ground coordination services patients choose to buy, quoted in writing before anyone commits, and from a small number of clearly labeled affiliate links, such as a money-transfer service mentioned on cost pages.
